One important thing your friend needs to understand is, Jesus has labelled those things that produce extreme pleasure as sins. But, the reason for that is because the end result of those things He labelled sin causes pain, emptiness, disappointment, and ultimately spiritual and physical death.

At this point, your friend doesn’t have to make any changes in their current life. Jesus’ is offering them alternatives to their current lifestyle that He will help them trade for their sins. Plus, they must become saved before Jesus can make any significant changes. Your friend doesn’t make the changes; they just have to allow Jesus to make the changes. The Bible isn’t an instruction Book; it is a powerful, transformation Book. It creates change, as it and Jesus speak into your friend’s life.

And, He brings healing to their physical body that is supernatural.
