Proclaiming The Good News
Mat 7:13-14 (NIV) Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
It sounds like all we have to do is help people with their physical needs. And, in a certain way, that is exactly what He is saying. The way to the heart of a person is through their needs.

We want to give them the answer we know will help them. They want the answer they think will help them. Our answer is better; but they aren’t open to it. How are we going to give them the better answer? It can only be accomplished by helping them with their physical needs first. As we start clothing, feeding, visiting, and comforting them concerning the problems they care about, we develop a trust relationship with them. This opens their hearts to more of what we have to offer. They start allowing us to give them help with problems they didn’t know they had. They start allowing us to give them answers they didn’t think would solve their problems.
