Don’t Teach What You Know
Let’s face it, in a classroom or church meeting we can teach and preach things we aren’t living. Out in real life we have to have a genuine ministry that works in the middle of life. If what we believe and teach doesn’t work in real life, it doesn’t take a disciple long to figure it out. When we are with the crowds, we can’t just teach what we know. In other words, we can’t preach and teach from our brains. People have to experience the transforming power of God changing their lives; or, we get revealed as fakes.
Only in those areas of our lives and ministries where God is flowing through to meet the needs of the people are we really qualified to address their issues. |
If people’s lives are falling apart in spite of all our teaching and preaching, we have a problem. If, in secret, our lives are falling apart and we are still ministering, we have an even bigger problem.
1 Cor 9:27 (KJV) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. Rom 2:1 (NIV) You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, BECAUSE you who pass judgment do the same things. |
