1 Cor 1:25 (NIV) For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

It doesn’t help for us to belittle or punish ourselves for not being more like Christ. No amount of guilt or pain is going to move us into the things of God.

Rom 8:1 (NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus.

Sometimes we wish God would make us feel more guilty about our failures and shortcomings. Maybe we would try harder or want to be better. But instead, God refuses to condemn us. Why? Because none of that will help us. We need something else to help us to change into the ingredients that bond together to make spiritual salt.
