Character
Step One for us is to really be spiritual salt. So, what does a salt person look like?
They are:
- Poor in spirit: One who knows they need all that God has to offer and seeks an intimate relationship and ministry with Him on that basis.
- Mourner: One who cares about the condition and fate of sinners and, therefore, prays to God for their deliverance.
- Meek: One who is transparent, allowing God and His character to be viewed through them (thoughts, feelings, words, and actions).
- Hungry and thirsty for righteousness: One who knows they need God and His character and pursues Him and it with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength and then helps others do the same.
|
|
- Merciful: One who allows the power of God to flow through them into the bodies and lives of those whom God is desirous to respond to their needs.
- Pure heart: One who is yielding to God to have impurities removed from their lives so He can manifest Himself and His character to the needy in a greater way.
- Peacemaker: One who is growing from infant to a more mature Christian and minister in their love relationship with others.
Every one of these are vacuums, needs, empty areas, acknowledged weaknesses, and open doors toward God and all He has to offer. We have a need, a want, a desire to receive from God and replace all the things in our life and ministry with Him and His provisions. Without this open, emptiness, there is no room for God and all His has to offer. The Beatitudes help us yield to these blessings from God.
