Jesus’ Sermon On The Mount
Study Thirteen

This Is Day Two

Mat 5:14-16 (NIV) You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Steps To Permanent Blindness
1 Tim 4:1-2 (NIV) The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

These are very dangerous people. Because of their seared conscience, they can kill us or do damage to us without even feeling a twinge of guilt.

Mat 7:6 (NIV) Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.
This is a serious warning. In our zeal to help people come to Christ, we will run into people who are totally devoted to the devil. We will see, as we study further, that Jesus treated these people entirely different than others.

There is a message for them. But, it is a message of warning and judgment. They will ask us great spiritual questions. But, their motive is to trap us, not to learn. We need to be sure to let the Holy Spirit help us identify them and avoid them.
