I Just Want Things
In Jesus’ parable of the man who sowed seeds in his field, He talked about seeds falling in an area where thorn seeds existed as well.

Mat 13:7 (NIV) Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.

Then He gave the spiritual meaning for the seeds that fell among thorns.
Mat 13:22 (NIV) The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.

If we concern ourselves (worry) about this life and wealth, we become unfruitful in the work of God. We have to concern ourselves with the issues of righteousness. The way to do that is to let the Holy Spirit empty us of worldly cares and give us a deep hungering and thirsting for God’s righteousness. The Holy Spirit has the power to produce all of this in us.
