Light Work With The More Mature
The miracle of Jesus being able to describe her life to her brought her to the door of belief. She, in turn, went and shared everything she had experienced with those around her.
Even though she had very little, it didn’t keep her from inviting her friends to come see a man. Her excitement concerning the impact Jesus created in her life drew others to Jesus. Jesus then did what she was unable to do. In other words, the mature Christian takes it from where the new Christian leaves off (excitement about their miracle), and presents the life changing truth to them. John 4:40-42 (NIV) So when the Samaritans came to Him, they urged Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days. |
And because of His words many more became believers. They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this Man really is the Savior of the world.” What would have happened if Jesus had stayed in a building rather than going out into the community? What if He didn’t stop by Samaria and talk to a woman standing at a well? There was no bowl over Jesus’ light. He was like a city that was built on top of a hill. Not only did Jesus spend His time out where the sinners were, He talked spiritual things about the Kingdom of Heaven to them. With this woman, He took a little time with earthly issues and then used them as a bridge to discuss spiritual issues. The light of His ministry was turned on with very little delay. |
