Rom 6:4 (NIV) We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, WE TOO MAY LIVE A NEW LIFE.

The true new Christian is in pursuit of the character of God. Their goal isn’t to just stay away from hell. If, once they have taken care of the hell issue, they have no concern for God or the things of God, then they weren’t baptized into Christ Jesus. The TRUE new Christian WANTS to live a new life. Yes, Christ died and was buried for us and our sins. But, He also “raised from the dead through the glory of the Father.” He did that in order that, “we TOO may live a new life.”

Some of the people you will minister to will always be concentrating on their mistakes, shortcomings, and failures.

They won’t realize that Jesus’ truth is like getting light into a room. Rather than us trying to get darkness out of a room, we simply turn on the light and it DRIVES OUT the darkness. Rather than them constantly appealing to God to deliver them from some sinful, addictive, or personal problem, they need to find out what Jesus’ counterpart or spiritual replacement is and seek to get it.

There is always a fruit of the Spirit characteristic that is God-designed to drive out an act of the sinful nature (Galatians 5:19-23). To use this process of looking to healing Scriptures that replace bad characteristics in our life, keeps us looking at the resurrection life of Jesus rather than spending all our time in the death and burial part of Christianity. The principles in Romans chapter 8 drive out the problems in Romans chapter 7. It is vital that we understand the principles in Romans chapter 7. But, once we do, we need to move on to the solutions that drive out the Romans chapter 7 problems.
