The DEPRESSION Issue
Depression
Everyone has days when they feel down, discouraged, and defeated. There are times in life where the down days happen more than the up, encouraged, and happy days.

Depression has an affect on your attitudes that doesn’t come from circumstances. Wonderful things may be happening to you and you won’t be able to really appreciate them. People may try to cheer you up; and even though you try to get excited, you just can’t shake the negative feelings.

Depression hangs like a black cloud over your head and causes you to feel down and discouraged at times when things are happening to you that should make you feel excited and happy.

You may smile and act like everything is fine; but there is this heaviness that weighs your heart down. Even when you are laughing and appearing to be having a good time, there is this negative pain that is pressing down on your chest. This is where Jesus makes the difference; He knows how to cheer you up by changing your emotions and thoughts. He has powerful words that He speaks into you; they drive out the darkness.

Depression can make you feel like even Jesus won’t be able to help you. It may take some special prayer from your heart to help you reach out to His training and healing. Just cry out to Him and allow your heart to express itself. Allow the negative feelings to come to the surface and flow out through tears and words that express your sorrow. Give your heart over to Jesus and He will empower you to reach out for the help you need.

It may take all the energy and prayer you can put forth to take a step in this direction. But, consider this one thing, Jesus isn’t going to be putting pressure on you to change things; He will be working the miracles for you. He will accept the responsibility for changing you and your circumstances. Just select the “Depression” word in the gray box and it will take you to that study.
