Trying to win money rather than earn it is an abnormal procedure. Money is either to be earned or supplied to you from God as a gift. When you try to involve luck, chance, or random events, you are applying principles that aren’t a part of a relationship with God. Typically, you are involved with some organization who has skewed the game where the percentages are in favor of the “house.” Jesus wants to set you free from trying to put your success in life on random events of luck, chance, or a gamble.

Another big issue has to do with why gambling is something you feel you need to do. There can be emotional issues, relationship problems, and other stressing things that cause you to feel like you have to self-medicate. Jesus will help you see if there is some kind of damage or hurt that is driving you toward gambling. He will be able to go into the areas of your heart that no one can access. He will help you be set free from those things that are setting you up for failure.

Once you open the door to something like gambling, you have exposed your body to extreme pleasure. The moment your body experiences extreme pleasure, it wants it on a constant basis. It will try to drive you away from those things that only provide you and it with mild pleasures. This can take your life away from you; you can find yourself neglecting things that are normal requirements of life. It can also change you reasons for why you do what you do. Most everything you do can be setting you up for your next time of extreme pleasure.
