Jesus saved you by providing you with the benefits of salvation.  And, He lived a life before you that shows you how to take advantage of those benefits that came through salvation.  If you will lock your eyes on Him, you will see how to live the Christian life in such a way as to be a winner.  You can win at everything you do, if you live the Christian life the right way. 

Jesus not only provided you with salvation, He lived it in the Gospels just like He wants you to live it.  He set you the example so you would have living proof of how it works.  Your main need is to be motivated to pattern your life after Him.  There are going to be some challenges and difficulties that try to keep you from winning.  Misunderstanding, people, and things are going to try to trip you up and push you away from Jesus’ example.  But there is a way for you to increase your desire to such an extent that you become willing to press on to the high call of God. 

Jesus didn’t make all the sacrifices He made without having something to inspire His efforts. 

He allowed the Father to show Him all the benefits of the sacrifices He made.  Jesus allowed His heart to be filled with a joy for all of the great things He would receive, if He became willing to make those sacrifices. 

If we want a new car, house, or some new clothing, we become willing to work hard for them.  As long as we can see the benefits of working hard and making sacrifices, we will pay the price.  Athletes create great pain in their bodies, as they train for their sport.  They allow themselves to see the victories and the cheers of the crowd.  They think about how great it is going to be, when they win at the games.  Without this motivation, they would never be able to train so hard and go through so much pain.  You need to allow God to show you how wonderful life is going to be and how incredible eternity is going to be, if you follow Jesus’ way of life. 

Pray that God will help you follow Jesus’ pattern of life.  Ask Him to help you see your future, as you pattern your life after Jesus.  Let Him show you how to yield to Jesus’ life, as you allow Him to do through you those things He did in the Gospels.  Ask Him to show you how to have the great life He had when He was ministering on this earth.  He wants to help hurting people like He did then.  He is willing to allow you to experience His power and greatness as He flows through you.
