Mark Chapters 15 And 16

Responding Out Of A Relationship
If we feel close to God, we aren’t as prone to do something that would damage that relationship. Since you love Him, you want to be pleasing to Him. You can feel His heart and you will know when you are doing something He doesn’t want you doing. This gives you a desire to pray for the power and training to make the changes. It comes from a heart of love, as you seek His will for your life. This relationship draws you into doing the right things and quitting the wrong thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds.

God has been so good to you, that you want to respond back with a life of pleasing Him. There may be some things that you disagree with; but your relationship with Him has taught you how much He loves you. You have experienced these conflicts between His will and your opinions before. You know He is always right; and He is always doing the very best for you. So, you go ahead and yield to Him because you love Him and are responding to Him as your heavenly Father.

Our relationship with our heavenly Father is Him being our parent and us being His child. You may have had a difficult time with your parents. You may have had a difficult time as a parent.
This relationship with God may not be something you understand properly. However, as you open your heart to Him, you can learn a relationship that fulfills a deep longing in your heart. You were created with a God-sized hole in your heart. You not only need Him for meeting your needs physically and financially; you need Him to help you with a longing for a relationship that heals you emotionally.

Your relationship with yourself and others will always be struggling, if you don’t allow your heavenly Father to take His proper place in your heart. No one can give you the relationship that fills the God-sized hole you were created with. If you try to get yourself or others to fill this deep longing, you will let yourself down and they will always let you down. Not necessarily because you and they didn’t try; no human can ever live up to the relationship God gives you.

Pray that your relationship with your heavenly Father becomes complete. Ask Him to take His proper place in your heart so you won’t try to fill it with human relationships that are too small. Let your heavenly Father love you and bless you so much that He wins your heart over. Let Him teach you how to be His child and how to accept Him as your spiritual parent.
