Thoughts and feelings come our way that disagree with God’s Word; and, people’s opinions also come our way. Our friends, our relatives, our business associates, our teachers or instructors, the internet, TV, magazines, books, and radio programs frequently give us ideas that are in opposition to what the Bible says. Our reaction needs to be the same. We need to take a moment and stop and think that, that is a concept from Satan. We then need to ask God to help us remember what the Bible says. Then in your mind give the meaning of that verse or passage to your heart. As you are going over the various Scriptures that defeat this opposing view, you are training your heart and mind on living the Bible. You are telling your heart that you are going to believe and go God’s way and not the body’s, world’s, or Satan’s way.

In the “Children Of God” Devotional Set, we had a devotion called “Yielding To The Power Of God.” Day five’s two slides, nine and ten, looked at the fact that you and the Holy Spirit can work together to control your tongue and your tongue will be able to control your body.

Once your tongue starts controlling your body, your body then controls your life. This is covered in week thirteen and can be looked at from the Table Of Contents. Then in week fourteen we did the devotion “Meeting The Power Of God.” On day four we used slides seven and eight to see that the heart controls the tongue, that controls the body, which controls our life. As you feed your heart, you are making decisions to go with the meaning of the Bible. You are also making decisions to not go with thoughts, feelings, and words and actions from other sources. These two decisions are training your heart which then controls your body. That is a part of presenting your body as a living sacrifice.

Ask Jesus to empower you to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and the Bible. Pray that He will teach you how to fill your heart with personal decisions to resist satanic, worldly, and body wants, desires, and lusts and go with God’s truth. Ask Him to teach you how to use the things stored in your heart to control you tongue so you can use it to control your body. Ask Him to help you use this decision making system to so fill your heart with the right decisions that your body will start living a good, pure, loving life.
