Day Two    Page One

This Week’s “Walking With Jesus” Reading
Recommendation:
Mark Chapters 3 And 4

Seeing How The World System Works
We have seen much of the world’s system and have even been trained on how to use it better and better. We have used it and benefited from its methods. Our lives have been “prospered” through its principles and we have gained a lot of “faith” in it. However, we haven’t completely seen the world’s system through God’s eyes. We are typically willing to do what it takes to get what we want. The world system requires that we pursue the item we want. God’s system requires that we have certain character traits before we can get what we want. You have to know what you want in order to use the world system. You have to believe that God knows what is best for you in order to use His system. God’s system requires a real and meaningful relationship in order to get what you want; the world system doesn’t. In the world, most of your relationships are just for business purposes. You don’t have to like the people you do business with much less love them.

God wants people to be more important than things. He made you where you want and need friends very much. Your heart cries out for relationships that are real and satisfying. The world system teaches you and those around you that relationships aren’t as important as accomplishments, possessions, and skills.
They reward you for what you can do; God rewards you for who you are.

God brings you into His family and teaches you how to bring more and more people into that family. The family relationship is closer to the way God’s system works. The family shares, cares for, and lives with each other in a common ownership method. God’s family is really aimed in the direction of love, compassion, concern, sharing, caring, and understanding each other. We are to learn, in the church setting, how to use the system of God in our relationships with each other. We are to open our eyes to the needs of those around us, as a church family, and start praying for and helping one another. That helps us move out of our own world into the family of God.

Ask Jesus to help you start finding out how people in your church family are “really” doing. Little by little start asking the people in your church family how things are going in their lives. Ask Jesus to help you start praying for those things you see and hear. Ask Him to help you feel the needs and issues in their lives. Ask Him to help you care as much for them as you care for yourself.
