There will be things God will never ask you to do. If you try to do things that God hasn’t asked you to do, you will find that you lack spiritual power to do them. The reason for this is because God hasn’t anointed you with the power of the Holy Spirit to do them. God will ALWAYS give you the power to do those things He wants you to do. BUT, there are a tremendous amount of things that can still keep you from getting the job done.

If you don’t have God’s power, typically it is because God didn’t ask you to do it. Not having God’s power to do something is your best indicator that God either doesn’t ever want it done or doesn’t want it done yet. But, don’t forget the list of things that can happen when you do have God’s power but don’t use it or don’t use it properly.

Sometimes you need God’s help in a certain area. So, you step out in “faith,” and nothing happens. That can be a traumatic moment for you. You know God doesn’t fail; so, you blame yourself. You try it again to see if maybe you didn’t do it right, or, maybe God changed His mind. You present a whole bunch of Scriptures to yourself and to God. You get a whole bunch of other people involved so as to gang up on the issue. You go to a place where there is a person or group that sees results in this area. But, nothing happens.

In some cases, God didn’t fail you and you didn’t fail God because of faith. You just took on an assignment that God didn’t give you permission to do. His plan was to meet that need some other way. When you find a Scripture in the Bible and you try to “APPLY” it, you are out of your realm of authority. Humans can’t APPLY the Word of God to things. You have to get God’s permission to use it. You have to get God’s power to apply it. You have to get God’s revelation to let you know if you understand what it means in the first place.

God’s plan for David involved allowing him to be sent out to tend sheep all by himself. No amount of prayer or attempts from David were going to keep that from happening. He was going to be left out there for as long as God wanted. But, the moment came for David to be called in to be anointed king. Your miracles are coming; but they are coming God’s way because He wants the very best for you.

Pray that you will be able to handle a “no” from God. Ask Jesus to help you believe in the love of your heavenly Father. Let the Holy Spirit teach you how to yield to all of God’s decisions. Also, spend some time praying for God to deliver you from self-criticism. Getting upset with yourself won’t empower you to change. Faith in God is the only way for you to experience the anointing (empowering) of the Holy Spirit.
