Becoming a Christian through being born again is a wonderful thing; but, being shown how you got it and how it works is even more wonderful. Many Christians only know they have been born again; they have no idea how it happened or how it works. Since their pastor, priest, or minister is the “professional,” they assume that it is all up to them to understand the technical details of the issue. But, this presents a real problem in being able to take full advantage of Christianity for themselves and for sharing it with others.

Becoming born again comes with a manual that explains how we get it, how it works, and how to live and share it. For those who leave all the Biblical information to the spiritual “professionals,” they live a very weak and disappointing life; and, they live a very selfish and unloving life. Just like medicine is exclusive to the medical profession and practicing medicine WITHOUT A LICENSE is illegal, so is it often “illegal” to practice mentoring and ministry in many Christian organizations.

Leaving it to the professionals helps keep the quality of spiritual training at a higher level; but, it also keeps its availabililty at a lower level. In Jesus’ day, the message was being spread by large quantities of people because everyone was IN THE PROCESS of learning EVERYTHING Jesus taught. Mat 28:20a (NIV) and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. In Jesus’ day, the only way a person was excluded was that they excluded themselves.

The reason many Christians live one way on Sunday and another on Monday is because they don’t know that the Bible is for real life. Because most of the Biblical information is kept inside the professionals and their training, the people who need the information are trying to live the Christian life without it. This causes spiritual weakness, failure, confusion, frustration, and discouragement.
