Healing The Sick

Day Three    Page One

This Week’s “Walking With Jesus” Reading
Recommendation:
John Chapters 15 And 16

Contaminants
Since no one is perfect, there will always be little imperfect thoughts, feelings, words, and actions that flow through a person as they reach out to others. Depending on how much spiritual growth takes place in a person, these contaminants will be minimized. The more you expose yourself to God and the things of God, He will heal and deliver you from more and more of them. Along with you wanting them out of your own life so as to help you, you will be seeking more of God’s help so as to protect those around you.

The Benefit Of The Doubt
To love our neighbor as ourself is to consider them innocent until proven guilty. You know you are trying to do good and stop doing things that hurt people. You can feel the struggle you are going through and the difficult time you are having with misdeeds of your body. So, like a person coming into a hospital with a sickness, you welcome in people who are flawed and difficult to be around. It is normal for sick people to come to a hospital; and, it is normal for sinners to come for help.
Expectations
The more people, who are new to the things of God, are brought together, the more problems and misbehavior take place among your friends and your friend’s friends. You expect sick people to be in a hospital; but, we often get upset when unsaved, new Christians, and untrained Christians sin and do things that are difficult to deal with. We frequently don’t see spiritual disease as being the same as physical disease. Usually it isn’t the sick person’s FAULT they are sick with a physical disease. And, since “ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” it is normal for the unsaved, new Christians, and untrained Christians to sin.

Attitudes And Character
Sin and its effects cause a person to have bad attitudes and character. They think, feel, talk, and act in bad ways; and, they fail to behave in good ways. They will have a certain amount of social training that helps them to “act” like a Christian; but, they will NOT have these attitudes and characteristics TRANSFORMED in their heart, mind, and life. They are still spiritually sick and still need a PHYSICIAN.
