Healing The Sick

Day One    Page One

This Week’s “Walking With Jesus” Reading
Recommendation:
John Chapters 15 And 16

Sin Is A Spiritual Disease
Here’s the truth: Rom 3:23 (NIV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Now, even though this is true of all of us, some of us take pride in the fact that our sinning took place in the past. We see ourselves as having obtained some form of righteousness, Godliness, and holiness. We know it all came to us as a gracious, merciful, free gift that we did not deserve; but, now that we have it, we feel superior to those who don’t have it.

Judges
Here’s the deal: Mat 7:1-2 (NIV) Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. What we have to realize is that we are in no position to criticize, analyze, compare, or condemn anyone at any time. If we were to look at Paul’s life before he became a Christian, we would “decide” that there was no hope for him. If we would have examined Judas Iscariot’s life at the time when Jesus made him one of His twelve disciples, we would have “decided” that God was going to use him in a mighty way.
Humility
Here’s the system: James 4:6 (NIV) But He gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” God can and will only use the humble because they can work with anyone without hurting them or neglecting them. As we start our day, we have to be open and neutral in our evaluation of people. We also have to be set free from grading sins and acting like some are better than others. Rom 6:23a (NIV) For the wages of SIN is death. That is true of ANY sin; any sin that has not been forgiven and cleansed by God will cause us to spend eternity without God.

Grace And Mercy
If it were not for the grace and mercy of God providing us with salvation, we would all be spending eternity without God. If we will all accept these facts and allow God to write them on our minds and hearts, we will then be ready to go into God’s spiritual hospital and help hurting people. Most of the sins that God’s people commit in group gatherings comes from judging, evaluating, comparing, and pride. Just like a doctor has to get rid of all contaminants off of them before they go into surgery, so we have to let God deliver us from judgmentalism.
