Winning Through Commitment

Day Five    Page Two

This Week’s “Walking With Jesus” Reading
Recommendation:
Luke Chapters 17 And 18

Committing To Three Steps
For you to become a victor over the persecution, criticisms, mistreatment, and lure to sin from other people, you need to commit to three Scriptures and their concepts.
  1. Ephesians 6:7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were SERVING the Lord, not men. - Serve The Lord.

  2. Romans 3:4a . . . Let God be true, and every man a liar. - Listen To God.

  3. Matthew 5:11-12 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, BECAUSE great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. - Rejoice.

Don’t Let Others Steal Your Salvation
People can do a lot of damage to your life and Christian experience. Yet, we are required by God to spend a lot of time with them. We have already looked at how to detect who we should spend time with and who we should try to avoid.
But, even when we follow the correct procedures and only spend time with those who meet the criteria, we will still run into some big problems with the people we and God have chosen. Plus, there will be people who force their opinions on us.

There will be people who don’t want God and they don’t want anyone else experiencing Him. There are two types of these people. Those who pretend to be Christians but are wolves in sheep’s clothing. And, those who will openly attack you. The Bible calls them dogs and pigs. These both hate God and all He has to offer. They both will persecute you and say all kinds of false things about you. You will need to follow the above three principles with these two kinds of people; AND, you will have to use these principles in your relationship with typical Christians.

Pray that Jesus will help you learn, understand, and apply the above three principles to all your relationships. Ask Jesus to teach you how to love and care for those people He sends you to. Then ask Him to help you seek appreciation, love, respect, and acceptance from God alone. Ask Him for the wisdom and guidance to be able to detect wolves in sheep’s clothing and those who are dogs and hogs.
