Winning Through Understanding

Day Four    Page One

This Week’s “Walking With Jesus” Reading
Recommendation:
Luke Chapters 15 And 16

Recovering From Self-confidence
If we don’t feel some kind of confidence, we won’t try anything. Confidence helps us be willing to face the issues of life. However, the quality of the confidence decides the quality of the work and results. Moses had self-confidence and it limited him to what he was able to do. Later he is going to lose all of his confidence in himself. This is going to leave him empty of confidence. This moves him into a place where he believes that nothing is possible. He will try to convince God that he is a loser and that God needs to go get someone else for the job of delivering His people from Egyptian bondage. Later Moses gets God-confidence. This kind of confidence enabled Moses to lead the people of God out of Egyptian bondage.

Faith-Confidence
Most of us have been taught to have self-confidence. We have all experienced areas where we lack confidence. We can all see the need for confidence. We just need to decide who is going to be our source of that confidence. We can feel confident in our abilities; or, we can feel confident in God’s abilities.
God calls confidence in His abilities, faith. Faith is a confidence that God is true to His Word and is bigger than any situation. Faith is confident that God will ALWAYS do what is the very best for us. God-confidence motivates us to step out and do anything God asks AND empowers us to do. When God asks you to do something, all you have to do is say “yes.” Your next assignment is to wait until He gives you the power and abilities to do it. You may not feel ANY power or willingness to do it at the moment God asks you. Just ask for the power to say “yes,” then go ahead and tell Him you are willing to do it. Then pray for the power and abilities to do it; from that point on just wait until the power and abilities come. Once they do, use them to obey the assignment.

Pray that God will give you the training on how to have God-confidence. Ask Him to help you to always be able to say “yes” to anything He asks you to do. Then ask Him to protect you from self-confidence by empowering you to not try to do anything until He gives you the power and abilities to do the job. Ask Him to help you wait for His empowerment and equipping. Ask Him to assist you in acting just as soon as His power and abilities come into you.
