The truth of the matter is, you have gone through and have experienced a lot of things that have prepared you for winning at life. Your life experiences are “life classes” that God wanted you to learn from. This process will continue for the rest of your life. God has allowed various things to come your way that were supposed to teach and train you in the areas where He wants to use you for helping hurting people.

The Bible has been written in such a way that it is able to explain how you are to use these life experiences to learn spiritual principles. The correct spiritual principles applied to the right aspect of your life bring about breakthroughs and victories that help you see how to use the system of God. We have been going through these Biblical principles and will continue to look at more concepts from the Bible. However, each person’s life is different from most other people in that each person’s experiences have come in different order and from different people. God has to take His Word and shape it in such a way that it helps you make sense of your life.

Looking at this parable, that Jesus presents and then interprets, will help you see how you can get the most from all of your “life classes.”

You are looking at a dirt path that a lot of people have walked on. Before all these people walked on all this dirt, it was soft and pliable. Seeds could have been planted in it and would have grown. But now that all these people’s feet have packed it down, it is hard and completely resistive to seeds being planted in it.

That is the way life can be. Jesus is showing us a correlation between this packed ground and what happens to our heart when we suffer abuse from those around us. The more people “walk” on us and trample on our feelings, the more we get resistive to letting people influence us. Our heart becomes hardened and this does protect our feelings from any more hurt. But it also closes us off from the answers that could heal us and bring God’s blessings into our life.

Ask Jesus to help you learn how to be protected without having a hardened heart. Ask Him to help you learn the meaning and purpose for all the things you have gone through. Pray that He will show you the pattern and plan for the direction He wants you to go. Ask Him to help you learn to appreciate the “life classes” He has been exposing you to. Let Him continue these “life classes” but with greater cooperation and curiosity. Let Him show you what He is trying to teach you so you can use the Bible to interpret their purpose and meaning. Be willing to grow rather than harden against the people that use and abuse you.
