Sometimes we feel we don’t have time to wait for God to tell us WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and HOW to do the things we need to get done. The great thing about God being everywhere and the Holy Spirit being inside you, is you don’t have to go to some special place to have a conversation with Him. It can all take place in your mind. You can either consult your brain or you can consult the mind of Jesus. You can think thoughts that wonder what you should do; or you can think thoughts that are questions asking God what He wants you to do. They are both thoughts running through our mind. They are just thoughts that are directed at ourselves or toward God.

It is sometimes quicker to just do what we have always done. We don’t even have to think about it, when we keep doing life the way we have always done. That is when we have to wait on God before we act. It may seem like the pressures of life are too great and to frequent for you to take out the time to think thoughts that are directed toward God. But, the messes we create, when we do things the way we have always done them, make it worth it to wait for God’s input into the situation.

God can save you a lot of time, worry, frustration, and difficulties.

His way of life keeps you from making the mistakes in the first place. The time wasted and pain you avoid gives you much more time you can spend thinking thoughts that are directed as questions to God. Questioning God in your mind will bring ideas that will be far superior to the ideas or habits you use to live your life. The incredible results that come from a moment or two of thinking questions that ask God what He wants you to do will help convince you that God’s ways of doing things is better for you. It will help you wait on Him more.

A lot of times it is better to direct questions in your mind toward God and then wait for as long as it takes for Him to put an idea in your head, than to do something wrong that takes much longer to clean up. Pressures from goals, people, bosses, and deadlines can push you into just doing something even if it is wrong. Waiting on the answer, the power, and the will of God is better than pleasing people, reaching your goals, keeping your job, or getting what YOU want.

Ask Jesus to help you wait for the information from your heavenly Father. Pray that He will join you in your life so you will have the power and determination to always go with waiting on God. Ask Him to help you be convinced that the ideas that come from God will always be worth the wait.
