God will allow us to give Him a try. He will take a certain area of your life and show you how He would handle it if you give it over to Him. As with all of our other areas where we have given God the control, we can always take them back. God is willing to prove to us that He really does know what is best and how we can get the best results. He is asking you to take an area where you are having problems and let Him show you what He can do. You may be asking God to solve the problem and God has been refusing to help you with the problem. Instead, He wants you to allow Him to take that area where you are having your problem and show you how He would run it. In other words, the reason you are having problems in that area of your life is because of the WAY you are running it. If you allow God to show you the WAY He wants to run it, the problem will go away. When it does, it will help you leave that area in God’s control.

The promises of God, found in the Bible, are only applied to areas of our lives where God is running them. You won’t be able to get them to work in those places where you are running your life. Remaining in Jesus and His Word is a process where you are applying ALL the Bible to the way you live rather than a Scripture here and a verse there. As you allow God to have a segment of your life, He doesn’t just fulfill one promise in that area, He brings all the promises and blessings into it.

But, when you give a certain part of your life over to Him, He wants all of the Bible used to bring complete change to that compartment you have opened to Him. The Holy Spirit will begin teaching you how to live life the way the Bible lays it out. He will apply important Scriptures to the subjects needed to make that part of your life start working. If you are struggling with a certain relationship, He will start bringing Bible passages to your attention that will train and empower you to head in a different direction. Those Scriptures will give you the knowledge and the power to start living that area of your life the way God wants it lived. When that happens, the promises of God will begin to take place in that part of your life.

In those places where you are ready to turn them over to God, ask Him to give you the Scriptures He is going to want you to yield to. Ask Him for the understanding concerning how they are to be used to help you live your life differently. Pray for a revelation of the Holy Spirit so you can know what these Scriptures mean. Also pray that Jesus would come into that place where you are turning it over to God and join you in living it. Ask Him to give you His life in this area so you can yield to His way of living it.
