What makes more sense to you? Would it be better for you to use your understanding of life or use God’s understanding of life? It is your decision as to whose mind you want to use. If you start acknowledging your need for God’s understanding to run your life, then He will direct your paths and straighten them out. Rather than wandering around trying out all kinds of human ideas, He will lead you straight to success in life. The sooner you give your understanding of things over to God’s understanding and allow Him to tell you what to do and how to do it, the sooner your life will straighten out. We aren’t going to be able to get God to change His plan. He knows best; He wants to the best for you; and He isn’t going to start doing less than best for you. We have a choice of whether or not we are going to join God’s plan. God will either do the very best for us; or He just won’t get involved in that area of our lives.

Some people believe that God will give them His “plan B.” They believe that if they won’t allow Him to give them His best plan, He will settle for giving them His okay plan. That isn’t the way God works. He has one plan and we decide whether or not that very best plan is going to be implemented in our lives.

The reason part of our lives is working well and other parts aren’t isn’t because we are getting God’s second best. It is because we have allowed Him to give us His best in some areas of our life and we don’t have His will operating in other areas of our life. God only moves into those areas we open up to Him; but, if we open an area up, He will only move into it, if we are willing to accept His best. In those areas where we don’t want His best, He isn’t moving into those areas. That causes some of our life to be good and other areas to be heading in a wrong direction. It is up to us to examine all the areas of our life and decide whether we like God’s best or we prefer our way of doing things and the results we get from it.

Ask God to help you understand that you have to make a lot of decisions as to what areas of your life you turn over to Him. Let the Holy Spirit teach you how to make a case-by-case decision for each area you choose to turn over to Him. We would like to just hand our whole life over to God and not have to make area-by-area decisions; but you need to start making decisions as to whether or not you want each area turned over to God. As you and God examine each area of your life, pray that He will help you make the right decision.
