Yielding To What Jesus Is Saying To YOU
As you have been reading and studying your Bible, you have been receiving thoughts and feelings that have help you understand your Bible. The Holy Spirit has been explaining the Bible to you; and you have learned how to hear from Him. Some Christians think THEY are understanding the Bible through their mental abilities. This takes the credit away from the Holy Spirit and gives it to their own mental powers. Those who realize these great thoughts and feeling are coming from the Holy Spirit, will grow in their understanding of how the Spirit works. This will prepare them for the voice of Jesus. You have been learning the things of Jesus from the Holy Spirit. He has been teaching you and familiarizing you with Who Jesus is and what He says. Now you are ready to start receiving instructions from Jesus. His voice, as was explained in Romans 10:17 from the previous slide, comes as faith. As you are reading your Bible and the Holy Spirit is explaining it to you, there will be verses that Jesus will make available for you to live. He will speak faith into your heart and you will believe you can obey that written and reveal Word.
Faith from Jesus can cause an excitement in your heart. You will not only know what the Bible is saying, you will understand what it means, and Jesus will empower you with faith to go out and live it. |
Eventually this will happen with all Scriptures; but Jesus won’t flood your life with too many assignments at a time. He will pick which Scriptures He wants you to start living for right now. He will give you the faith to believe you can live what that Scripture is saying. You will receive the power to do what Jesus has told you to start living. This is how success comes in the Christian life. If we decide we are going to start obeying Scriptures we choose, we experience failure. If Jesus tells us to start obeying certain Scriptures, we experience success because His words produce faith that is coupled with power. This kind of faith produces a KNOWING that we have been empowered to live that passage. This way of life brings credit, glory, appreciation, and love into our relationship with Jesus. It helps us appreciate all HE is doing in and through our lives. Thank Jesus for all the Scriptures He has given you the faith to live so far. Praise Him for all the victories He has installed in your life. Ask Him to take control of your Bible reading and study. Tell Him you want Him deciding which verses He is ready for you to start living. Give Him all other Scriptures and let Him control when they will come into your way of life. Trust Him to know when you are ready for your next Scriptural assignment. |
